Bone grafting the mandible.
Many bone grafting techniques have been used to reconstruct the partially dentate and edentulous mandible. Stafne bone cavity is a rare mandibular defect that was first reported by Edward C. Stafne in 1942. It commonly presents with a well-demarcated, asymptomatic, unilateral radiolucency that indicates lingual invagination of the cortical bone. A 52-year-old female patient who with nasal bone fracture, visited the hospital. During facial bone computed tomography (CT) for facial area evaluation, a w...
متن کاملSolitary bone cyst in the anterior mandible.
Solitary bone cyst is relatively rare in oral surgery. Although BEASLEYM reported that solitary bone cyst in the jaw was more common than previously believed, its incidence of occurrence is still very low. Because they are generally asymptomatic, most cases are only incidentally discovered through routine radiography. Accordingly, any increase in the occurrence of solitary bone cyst would mostl...

The aneurysmal bone cyst is a type of pseudocysts of the jaw. It is a nonneoplastic lesion of the bone, characterized by replacement with fibro-osseous tissue containing blood-filled sinusoidal or cavernous spaces. The lesion remains a relatively uncommon finding in the facial bones, and the cause and pathogenesis are yet to be elucidated. Aneurysmal bone cyst was first described as a distinct ...
